The Boston Globe claimed "If Daniel Pipes' admonitions had been heeded, there might never have been a 9/11." But his critics say his views on Islam are just as extreme as the Islamists he criticises. So, where to now after the Arab Spring?

Harvard-educated Daniel Pipes founded the foreign policy thinktank Middle East Forum, and is currently a visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution of Stanford University. His website, DanielPipes.org is one of the Internet's most accessed sources of specialized information on the Middle East and Islam.
"Making Sense of the Middle East Upheavals" was hosted by The Centre for Independent Studies.
